The Texas Historical Commission (THC) hosts and organizes maintenance and stewardship training workshops for county officials and staff. Since March 2007, the Texas Land Title Association has partnered with THC as a sponsor of our annual Texas Courthouse Stewardship Workshop. The workshop is designed for counties that have received funding through the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program and have completed their projects, or are in the process of doing so. The workshop is a unique opportunity to hear from guest speakers and THC staff on the preventative mainteance challenges and solutions for historic county courthouses.
Typically, the workshop attendees includes a facility manager and an elected official who form each county's courthouse stewardship team. As funding allows, hotel and travel costs may be reimbursed for up to two participants per county. The workshop program includes networking and recognition/awards for noteworthy county stewardship efforts.
