Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home is celebrating its 130th year in business and claims distinction as the oldest, continuously run business in Boerne. Established in 1882, Ed Ebensberger built a new building in 1937 embracing the modern Art Deco style of architecture. That unique historic building has been maintained and serves the business today. In 2008 Sonny Ebensberger, 4th generation of the founding family, became partners with Dusty and Jo Lynn Fisher and the name became the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home, an active supporter of the community and a Texas Treasure. Senator Jeff Wentworth presented The Fishers and Sonny Ebensberger with the Texas Treasure Business Award this past December in Boerne.
